A door that doesn’t work is a doorway that costs money.
GEA runs one of Ireland’s most advanced door service operations: our own engineers nationwide, digitally dispatched, with the full service history of every door they touch in their hands. We hold service agreements with many of Ireland’s biggest pharmaceutical, food and logistics companies — the businesses that can least afford a failed door trust us to keep theirs moving.
One call for every door on your site, whatever the brand.

Fire door inspections by certified inspectors
Fire doors are life-safety equipment — and Irish regulations require them to be inspected twice a year (Building Regulations 2006 Part B, referencing BS 8214). Our fire door inspectors are certified by BRE Global under LPS 1197 (certificate no. 1839Pla), so every inspection carries certified weight with fire officers and insurers.
Every door is assessed component by component and logged in our digital asset register with photographic evidence. You get a detailed technical report — door-by-door condition, non-compliances numbered and photographed, and clear replacement recommendations — and our own technicians carry out the remedial repairs, closing the loop from inspection to compliant door.
Non-compliance risks fines, insurance issues and prosecution for the building’s Responsible Person. A certified inspection programme takes that risk off your desk.
Service agreements that pay for themselves
A GEA service agreement starts with a full survey and asset register of every door on your site. From there we build a maintenance schedule around how each door actually works — a high-cycle production door needs different care to a fire escape. Agreement customers get priority breakdown response, agreed rates, and a digital paper trail for every visit: what was checked, what was replaced, what to plan for. No surprises at audit time, and no surprises in the budget.
Why planned maintenance wins
- Uptime: worn parts get replaced on a scheduled visit, not at 6am on your busiest day.
- Compliance: fire curtains and fire doors carry current test certificates, always.
- Asset life: well-maintained doors last years longer and cycle more smoothly.
- Budget certainty: agreed rates and planned visits instead of emergency premiums.
- Advanced diagnostics: our engineers work with modern control systems and manufacturer-level diagnostic tools.

Frequently Asked Questions
A full asset register of your doors, a preventative maintenance schedule matched to each door’s duty, priority breakdown response, agreed rates, and digital service records with certificates for every visit.
Yes. Our engineers service high speed, sectional, roller, fire and automatic doors from all major manufacturers — most agreement customers have a mixed fleet.
It depends on duty. A high-cycle production door may need multiple visits a year; fire curtains and fire doors need at least an annual function test. Our survey sets the right frequency per asset rather than a blanket calendar.
Yes. Every service visit is logged digitally against the asset, and test certification for fire curtains and fire doors is issued with the documentation your fire officer, insurer and auditors expect.
We service doors nationwide from our bases in Cork and Dublin, with engineers on the road across Ireland every day.
Twice a year. The Building Regulations 2006 (Part B) reference BS 8214 for routine inspection and maintenance, and supporting standards advise a six-monthly inspection frequency. The building owner or Responsible Person is legally responsible for making it happen.
Every door is assessed component by component — leaf, frame, seals, hinges, closers, glazing and gaps — with photographic evidence. You receive a detailed technical report identifying each non-compliance, plus a digital asset register for future inspections. Our technicians can then carry out all remedial repairs.
LPS 1197 is the BRE Global (LPCB) scheme covering fire door inspection and maintenance competence. Our certification (no. 1839Pla) means the inspection is carried out by independently audited inspectors — evidence that stands up with fire officers and insurers.
