This weeks Stoebich project
Posted by Rob Gill on
This week has been interesting, a really unusual project replacing an old fire curtain with a new Stoebich version in the Gate Theatre in Dublin.
9.5m wide x 6.5m high, made for some interesting challenges, but well done to the team who work well in to the night to get the job completed.
We had a very narrow window for this installation, so it took great planning and a big effort on the day to get it completed.
The curtain itself came in two pieces each 4750mm long, the barrels were lifted in to place then joined in situ. The curtain also was in two parts was fitted to the barrel, then stitched and taped together maintaining the fireproof integrity of this large curtain.
